Data updates for Community Insight

Ensuring that you can be confident in the data you are using is very important to us. So, we are pleased to let you know about a number of updates to the data on your maps and dashboards, as well as in your reports.

Community Insight England and Wales

We have updated 110 indicators on the site, including all key indicators published in February 2016.

Key highlights include:

  • Unemployment benefits and youth unemployment (updated for January 2016)
  • People receiving benefits for poor health, disability, mental health, low income and social care needs, e.g. Disability Living Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, Pension Credit, Income Support (updated for August 2015)
  • Average house price for key property types – detached, terrace etc. (Updated for January – December 2015)
  • Recorded crime offences by key crime type- violence, burglary etc. (Updated for December 2015)

Community Insight Scotland

We have updated more than 150 indicators, including all key indicators published in February 2016.

Key highlights include:

  • Unemployment benefits and youth unemployment (updated for January 2016)
  • People receiving benefits for poor health, disability, mental health, low income and social care needs e.g. Disability Living Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, Pension Credit, Income Support (updated for August 2015).
  • Mid Year Population Estimates by age and gender (for 2014)

We have also added new indicators from Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics to the Community Insight Scotland report for your data delights.

The indicators cover the following themes:

  • Dwellings by council tax band
  • Age of mothers giving birth
  • Babies born with a low birth weight
  • Smoking prevalence among women giving birth
  • Vaccinations of children in early years
  • Prevalence of breastfeeding for new mothers
  • Hospitalisations
  • Pupil attainment for academic years S4 (15 – 16 year olds), S5 (16 – 17 year olds) and S6 (17 – 18 year olds)
  • Destination of school leavers (e.g. education, employment, training, NEET)
  • Local businesses (concentration and type)
